Happiness is a Choice

Happiness is a Choice

Many people tie their happiness to external events like waiting for a promotion, a relationship, or some life milestone before they allow themselves to be happy. This mindset creates a cycle of dependency where happiness becomes elusive, fleeting, and ultimately out of reach. When people treat happiness as a result rather than a choice, they often live in frustration, constantly reacting to life’s ups and downs rather than taking control of their emotional well-being.

Our research and experience show that to experience true happiness, it shouldn’t be tied to something that should happen to you. Rather it should be something you choose. Inspired by the American couple, Bears and Samaria Kaufman, here are six powerful shortcuts that anyone can practice choosing happiness daily. These include: 1) Making happiness a priority, 2) Practicing personal authenticity, 3) Letting go of judgment, 4) Being present and mindful, 5) Practicing gratitude, and 6) Deciding to be happy no matter the circumstances. Choosing happiness proactively creates a mindset that fosters joy, resilience, and productivity in both personal and professional life.
